In the beginning of my journey to learn photography I was constantly stressed and felt like I was missing something. I would get everything set up to take photos only to be met with frustration. I was overwhelmed because of the technical settings, angles and lighting that I didn’t fully understand yet. But once I mastered it, I realized it doesn’t have to be that complicated. I needed a guide.
Photography for artwork is a niche and there weren’t any resources to teach me how to creatively and successfully photograph my art to share with the world. Over the years I’ve learned the needed skills and that’s why I’ve created this course! For artists to thrive in professional photography and learn how to share their work effectively.

What about video content, isn’t it even better than photography?
Short answer NO… at least not for artists. Video content can be a wonderful tool for you to provide process videos, behind the scenes, sneak peeks and tutorials.
But remember - the closest anyone will get to experiencing your art compared to real life through a screen - is a photograph.
It allows the viewer to pause, zoom in on the details, to thoughtfully read the caption about the inspiration behind it and ultimately connect. Video is fast paced and when your feed becomes flooded with mainly video content a captivating photo can easily stop the scroll.
Photography is not going anywhere friends and it’s a needed skill for artists. From website photos, to gallery submissions, to social media compelling photography is a foundation skill you need to know.
What’s in the Course?
Module 1
The Basics
I’m going to walk you through all the basics in this module from ways to source an affordable camera, to different lenses, to all the best settings you need to know as an artist. You’ll be comfortable and confident with terms like ISO, shutter speed, aperture and more.
The Best Part..I’ll be sharing all my favorite settings that I use in my studio daily and you’ll get a Behind the Scenes look into my studio as I photograph.
Module 2
Capturing your Vision
I want to walk you through the beautiful story telling process of photography and how it deeply communicates your vision as an artist.
In this module we’ll cover lighting, angles and which photos communicate best. Communicating your unique vision and sharing your work in a compelling way is key to a successful art business.
Module 3
Editing
Knowing how to properly edit your photos is incredibly important, almost as much as knowing how to take your photos. Artwork is a sensitive subject to edit.
I’m going to walk you through Adobe Lightroom as I edit my own photos so you can become confident in your editing skills. I’ll show you the different types of photos you need to become familiar with from portraits with your art to styled shots of your art for website listings.
This module will also teach you how to create your own presets that are specific to your art!
Module 4
Creativity
Now that you’re comfortable using your camera, I’m going to teach you the fun techniques like slow motion photos, lighting techniques, and styling your art.
Learn how to create an overall mood and brand specific styling for your artwork.
This module is going to be the final skill you need to know to confidently and creatively take beautiful photos of your art!

Photography & Social Media Strategy
Learn exactly which images perform best and resonate with your audience. This module will walk you through how to draft posts and stories that thoughtfully and intentionally share your artwork with collectors.
Post and stories should never be random. Your content needs to directly communicate who YOU are as an artist. Your art and creation is deeply needed and wanted in this world. Learn how to best share your photos confidently and effectively!
